5 MOVIES THAT EVERY WINNER MUST WATCH

Movies are incredible. They add humor to our lives. They bring tears to our eyes. Sometimes they stir up our emotional side. But a handful of movies do something even more remarkable – they INSPIRE us and unknowingly leave an indelible imprint on our mind.

These films besides being my personal favorites, are loaded with some priceless life lessons which are worth imbibing and spreading to those we meet along the way. Enjoy!

1. Seabiscuit

Seabiscuit is a true story of an undersized racehorse of the 1930s, who failed to win his first 17 races. Much later, a perfect union of imperfections – an overlooked horse; a jockey blind in one eye and the horseowner cum business tycoon who had lost his biggest wealth, a young son – together make Seabiscuit the greatest racehorse of all times.

Inspiration: The story of an ordinary horse who raced his way upto be extraordinary, leaves us inspired to face whatever life brings our way, head on.

2. Patch Adams
As much as Seabiscuit is a real horse, Patch Adams is a real person – a doctor unlike any other. Through the personal journey of Adams, who failed to make it through med school, suffered depression, attempted suicide and even landed in a psychiatric ward, this delightful film showcases how a changed perspective after a bizarre encounter at the asylum, rekindles Patch Adams’ wish to be a doctor.

Inspiration: Optimism coupled with that uncanny, out-of-the-ordinary grit can take us places.

3. The Bucket List
The Bucket List traces an offbeat teaming up of Carter Chambers and Edward Cole who are up against the same demon: cancer. The clock is ticking as they list out all they want to do before they die. They sail along and by the end of it, Edward who has always been short of faith, is a transformed man and owes it to his optimistic mate, Carter. But do they survive the ordeal?

Inspiration: Live life to the fullest, so that when you look back, there’s not a thing to regret.

4. Rocky
“It ain’t about how hard you hit, it’s about how you can get hit and keep moving forward.”

This incredible takeaway stands out from one of the most iconic films of all times, ‘Rocky’. The film lends a reservoir of inspiration when Rocky Balboa, a small-time boxer walks that extra mile to win over the American heavyweight champion, Apollo Creed.

Inspiration: Dreams come true for those who withstand pain, persevere and never say ‘never’.

5. It’s a Wonderful Life
“Dear George, remember no man is a failure who has friends. Thanks for the wings. Love, Clarence.”

These words from George’s guardian angel sum up the wealth of lessons this wonderful film has in store. In this timeless Frank Capra classic, angel Clarence shows George how many lives George has touched all along his way as a struggling businessman. In return, George unknowlingly helps Clarence grow wings, which is something the angel was so anxiously waiting for.

Inspiration: Appreciate how blessed you already are having friends, family and most of all, faith, by your side.

Happy viewing! I would love to hear about the films that have touched your heart and stayed there for longer than you thought.
